New Years is less than twenty-four hours away. 2021 is a years the world is waiting! As anxious as we all are about leaving 2020 behind, there will be many things that will linger deep into 2021. Change will be as quick as a snail sliding across a six lane highway. Sooooooooooo!
While at work, a customer returned for follow-up work. Her demeanor was like our first encounter; slightly sad, guarded, and overflowing with negative self comments. Mid-way into our conversation I had to inquire about her mental therapy progress. She said it was okay but her therapist didn’t off resolutions only meds and questions. I relpy, that’s normal. A therapist ask probing questions to make you think and resolve your own issue.
I suggest meditation, yoga and loving stress creating family members from a distance. Keeping the mind, body and spirit in a state of calm is key to reducing anxiety, maintaining a healthy relationship with yourself and others. The constant state of fight or flight is to hard on the body, extremely damaging on the mind. Mental, as well as physical exercise is a necessary function in a highly stressful environment.
